“Bright Lights” Rainbow Chard offers the widest array of color in any Swiss Chard variety. Enjoy a dazzling season of fuchsia, yellow, white, pink, crimson and orange stems with green and bronze savoyed leaves. This market and garden delight is quite a cheery sight! A highly ornamental heirloom and a very healthful green— so eat up!

We are working with a few strains to increase bolt resistance and yield through hot weather as well as increased frost hardiness— stayed tuned!


Growing Instruction:

Start indoors in early spring and transplant out early May. Alternatively direct sow in late April/early May. One planting is usually sufficient for cut and come again harvest from late spring to fall but it can be sown again in late summer for fall harvest as well.

Space plants 6” to 10” apart.

Space rows 15” to 18” apart.

Sow an annual legume cover crop in fall to prepare the bed. Mix in a good compost at time of planting. Use a nitrogen tea if a growing boost is needed.

Harvest Instructions:

Harvest at the base of the stem by cutting or twisting. Harvested as a cut and come again. Enjoy late spring all the way to fall!
