Eruca sativa

Astro is a large-leaf arugula variety, perfect for the farm or garden. It boasts a classic and robust arugula flavor and only mild heat. The perfect spring and early summer crop to surround you with lots of food and good company. Arugula is best grown in spring and fall as summer sown plantings will bolt quickly. If you are looking to harvest arugula through the heat of summer, we recommend pairing an early spring planting of Astro Arugula with a late spring planting of heat-tolerant Sylvetta Perennial Arugula.

Growing Instruction:

Direct sow as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Sow again in mid/late summer for a fall crop.

Direct sow 2 inches apart in rows 6-8 inches apart.

Arugula does well in a moderately fertile soil. Amend with compost and a fall annual legume cover crop. If plants need a growing boost water with a nitrogen/compost tea.

Cover with row cover to prevent extensive flea beetle damage.

Harvest Instructions:

Harvest at any stage from baby leaf to large leaf
